It’s another one of those Maritime questions answered today. (By the way, I’m assuming you all knew what lobster plugs were??) I’m telling you, if Peggy was anywhere as close to being as beautiful as the cove named after her, then she was amazing. This has to be one of the most incredible places to photograph, and of course to see in person. It was VERY hard choosing my pictures today because there were a lot of good ones – partly due to the absolutely perfect weather and brilliant blue sky. Peggy’s Cove is about an hour’s drive from Lunenburg, were we are again staying for the night. We drove there this morning and climbed on the rocks, watched the waves crash, looked at the lighthouse (also a post office – you could get your picture taken, turned into a postcard, and then mail it, but it seemed too ‘gimmicky’ to me), and strolled through the tiny fishing village. Alas, there were no cannons…. but then, just as I had given up hope…..I walked into a gallery/gift shop and what did I hear? Canon in D being played on their background music CD. Perfect. Various musicians were playing in the area – bagpipes, violins – and I took the picture of one because I want you to note her sweatshirt. That’s right…. University of Regina Cougars. Of course we asked her if she was from Regina. No, she definitely was not, and didn’t even seem to know where it was. How she got the sweatshirt remains a mystery. The “churches across the water” picture was taken from the outdoor patio where we stopped for lunch (haddock) in another picturesque town called Mahone Bay. Here we also visited Amos Pewter’s manufacturing and design shop, and walked along the streets and pathways and watched various artists produce work for their “paint the town” competition. Back at Lunenburg we took in the Arts and Crafts festival, going on for the next three days. I would have to say it was a bit heavy on the “crafts” and not so much on the “arts”. Does one really need a stained glass, wooden, or hand-stitched lighthouse? We also drove around Lunenburg a bit more (Let me tell you, turning around on those narrow streets is no picnic. I’m so sorry I missed that day in school when they taught left and right.) and saw the town from the other side of the bay. SO bright and colourful! Since we’ve already had our fish today we plan to just have a light snack after another walk beside the ocean and then maybe watch part of the Sask/BC football game but we haven’t quite figured out what time it starts, Nova Scotia time. Tomorrow we have a fairly long drive (about 5 hours?) to Baddeck, which at the beginning of the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton. I’m sure there is more history to learn there, and hopefully, more cannons.

Caught up with your blog today---beautiful photo's of Peggy's Cove!
Just a minute --- the Italians say "Only a WOMAN is beautiful" but the pictures are spectacular!
Sounds like you're both enjoying your vacation. We are back home now for a couple of weeks--unless we decide to go to the Berg reunion. Are you going?
Safe travels!
Les
Just wondering why you didn't give us your blog address--- what did we do wrong????
You forgot that Les can't keep a secret--HA HA!!
We've read your blog and it sounds like you are having a good time. When we saw your pictures of Peggy's Cove it reminded us of the trip mom took to the Maritimes. She sure enjoyed that trip. Must say your pictures turned out better than the ones she took!!!
Have fun

Hi Rob & Wendy,
Just got your email and I'm so glad you gave us this address! These pictures at P.Cove are so great! I'd love to be there ... I'm sure I'd fill my camera memory card! I'm so glad for the chance to join your holiday... thanks for posting.. We will follow it as much as we can. We are in Calgary now, going to Sumlnd Sunday and home by Tuesday.
Take care, drive safe and I'm all in favor of canon pictures!

Alright, so I was badly beaten to the punch today, so what. I'll make up for it by saying that Peggy's Cove has nothing on Wendy's classroom! Both have a certain perfection about them that is a sight to behold.
You caught me, I am jsut buttering you up for the next cannon photo (a real risk taker I hope)!
Jealousy abounds!
Jay
OK, that cannon head-shot picture was HILARIOUS.
Truly hilarious. It looked like someone was aiming very, very carefully.
You deserve an LNJSFBALOL .... "literally, not just stupidly figuratively, but actually literally
laughed out loud"
(for some reason, my acronyms don't seem to be catching on with the young folk)
Anyway, everything sounds great. So glad you are enjoying yourself. Take a deep breath on my behalf, please!
